Abstract

866,144. Mineral-mining machines. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. Feb. 9, 1959 [Feb. 17, 1958], No. 5053/58. Class 68(1). Cutter-armed drums 12 extending from either side of and at the leading end of a vertically swingable frame 3, about which cutter armed belts 6, 7 circulate, are separately mounted on a shaft 10 in the frame. The belts may be of the type disclosed in Specification 790,664, which is referred to, and serve to drive the shaft 10. Guide surfaces 20 are provided on the sides of the frame to direct the cuttings from the drums 12 on to the belts 6, 7 for removal to the rear of the machine.
