A mineral-mining machine guide channel secured to the side of a conveyer troughing 8 comprises a horizontal leg 17, which is cranked downwards at the free edge to engage the floor and serves to limit the depth of cut of the machine 1, a vertical leg 18 by which the channel is secured to the troughing and which has a rolled-over free edge 11 that co-operates with a Z-section channel 13 secured to the leg 13 to form an open channel along which the haulage means 9 of the machine 1 can travel as the means 9 pulls the machine along the guide.
