Abstract
650,495. Mining machines. LOBBE, W. May 26, 1948, No. 14268. Convention date, June 16, 1947. [Class 68 (i)] A combined double-ended planer and loader assembly B is guided by a doubly tapered beam 15 sliding in an uncovered vertical walled channel 14 formed in the inclined plane of a longitudinally extending ramp C secured to the side 10 of a conveyer A and the loader sedtion 22 of the assenbly B extends over the ramp C. The upper of the two inclined surfaces 16, 17 of this ramp is at a steeper angle to the base of the ramp than the lower surface and the plane containing it does not intersect the conveyer structure whilst the surface 17 terminates in a horizontal portion 18 positioned below the upper edge of the side 10 of the conveyer. The haulage rope of the planer runs beneath the ramp and along the trough to be attached at either end of the tapered guide beam, which permits slewing of the planer as the cutting edge moves into the face.
