Abstract

781,617. Potato harvesters. HUSTAD, T. April 13, 1955, No. 10706/55. Class 6(3). A potato harvester comprising a share 18 and a pronged spinner 10 is provided with a circular disc 4 which is rotatable about a vertical axis the prongs of the spinner being arranged to sweep against the inner side of the disc. As shown the disc 4 and spinner 10 are driven by gearing from a shaft 8 connected to the power take-off shaft of a tractor connected to the machine by members 1. In a modification the disc is cone-shaped and a guard is provided laterally of the disc and above it, a rotatable scraper being provided to remove earth from the guard.
