Abstract
778,758. Thermal regenerators. SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AKTIEBOLAG. Jan. 9, 1956, No. 660/56. Class 64(1) A rotary regenerator having a cylindrical, radially partitioned rotor 8 is provided with means for equalizing the pressure of fluids entrained in sectorshaped rotor compartments lying between spaced apertures for air and gas flow in sector plates 21 at the ends of the rotor housing. The rotor carries radial seals at its ends to prevent fluid flow between adjacent compartments. A passage 28 connects two slots 26, one in each of the two opposite sectors of one of the sector plates 21. More than one such passage and associated pair of slots may be provided, and both sector plates may have such passages and slots.
