676,573. Thermal regenerators. AKTIESELSKABET BURMEISTER & WAIN'S MASKIN-OG SKIBSBYGGERI. June 23, 1950 [June 30, 1949], No. 15727/50. Class 64(i) A rotary heat exchanger, in which a heat absorbing and transmitting rotor 2 with small openings for the flow of fluid rotates through separate fluid passages 9b, 10a in a casing 1, is provided at each end of the rotor with a labyrinth sealing which includes a number of chambers 19 which extend at both ends 17, 18 to the periphery of the rotor on both sides of an axial plane so that, if the two fluids have different pressures, fluid of high pressure flowing, into the labyrinth sealing chambers from the rotor will flow along those chambers into parts of the rotor at the lower pressure. The rotor comprises a hub 5 and' rim 6 connected by radial plates the spaces between which are sub-divided by corrugated plates. Specification 636,733 is. referred to.
