Abstract

1500193 Thermal regenerators SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AB 20 Jan 1975 [4 Feb 1974] 2297/75 Heading F4K In a rotary regenerative heat exchanger comprising a vertically disposed rotor post 12 supported by bearings (14, Fig. 1) and a plurality of open-ended sector shaped baskets 22 containing heat exchange material, each basket 22 is pivotally secured to the rotor post 12 at both its upper and lower ends. Each basket 22 includes upper and lower inwardly extending fittings 44 having apertures 52 which are aligned with matching openings in annular brackets 56, 58 on the rotor post; pins 62 pass through the aligned apertures 52, 54. The mating or contacting surfaces of the lower bracket 58 and lower fitting 46 may be tapered (see Fig. 3, not shown). Circumferential seals (40, Fig. 1) and radial seals 42 between adjacent ends of the rotor baskets are provided for fluid sealing purposes.
