Abstract
1413473 Thermal regenerators SVENSKA ROTOR MASKINER AB 19 Oct 1972 [21 Oct 1971] 48950/71 Heading F4K In a thermal regenerator in which hoods 12, 16 are provided respectively at each end face of a heat transfer matrix 10 for the conveyance of one of the heat exchanging fluids to and from the matrix, the fluid supplied to the hood 12 is distributed in a uniform manner to the hood outlet adjacent the matrix end face by a group of vanes 22 which direct the fluid in a generally radially outward direction from the inlet 14, and by a group of vanes 26 spaced from the vanes 22 and acting to redirect the fluid in a direction at right angles to the matrix end face. The regenerator shown has a stationary, cylindrical matrix 10, and rotary supply and discharge ducts 12, 16 for one fluid which may be either flue gases, or air to be heated; the other fluid being guided in contra-flow to and from the matrix via conical housing elements 18, 20.
