Abstract
527,452. Rotary regenerators. AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROMS ANGTURBIN. April 12. 1939, No. 11105. Convention date, April 13, 1938. [Class 64 (i)] One face 26 of a rotary regenerator is closed while the inlets and outlets 98, 78, 80, 100 for the two media are so arranged that one medium enters in a radial direction and flows out in an axial direction at the face opposite the closed face and the other medium enters in an axial direction at the same face and flows out in a radial direction. The metal plates forming the heat-exchange masses are supported in casings 38 which may be readily inserted between radial walls 20 secured to the axis of the rotor, which is supported by a bearing resting on cross beams 12. The outer casing is supported by connections which may be adjusted by eccentric pins 66 in an axial direction.
