Abstract

517,600. Rotary regenerators. HOWDEN & CO., Ltd., J., and FLEMING, J. T. Aug. 10, 1938, No. 23556. [Class 64 (i)] A rotary heat-exchanger for air and furnace gases &c. comprises a central section 3, carrying regenerative material, and two end sections 3a, 3b, spaced axially apart from the central section. Intermediate radial and annular plates 4d, 3d are used to seal the gaps 4c, 3c between the sections, preventing any intercommunication between adjacent radial compartments of the sections, and between the rotor and the annular space 5, respectively. End sealing plates 4e, 3e, serve a similar purpose.
