Abstract

500,682. Rotary regenerators. KRAFTANLAGEN-AKT.-GES. March 25, 1938, Nos. 9213, 9214, and 9215. Convention dates, March 25, 1937, April 28, 1937 and Aug. 28, 1937. [Class 64 (i)] In a rotary regenerator of the kind in which the rotor 5, Fig. 2, is divided by radial partition plates associated with radial arms 11, 12, movable relatively to the partition plates and carrying sealing strips which engage with head plates 9, 10 at each end of the rotor casing, resilient strips are associated with the arms and plates to prevent the passage of gases therebetween. As shown in Fig. 4, radial arms 11 carry seating strips 15 engaging with the head plate 9 and a resilient asbestos strip 18 is secured to the arm 11 and plate 3 by clamping bars 16, 19. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which a resilient strip of metal 18 is secured to the arm 11 and plate 3 and Figs. 6, 7, 8 show further modifications in which the sealing strip 15 is extended downwardly to engage the partition plate 3. The arms 11 may be partly or wholly covered with asbestos.
