741,501. Rolling. SIEMAG VERTRIEBSGES. June 11, 1953, No. 16095/53. Class 83 (4). Frames for carrying assembled sets of rolls 1, 2, 3, out of and into roll stands comprise vertical members 5 on the inner sides of the standards 4 and having lugs 16, 17 engageable under the roll chocks when lifting. In a threehigh mill the lower chocks 8 of the middle roll 2 normally rest on projections 18 of the standards 4 and the upper and lower roll chocks 7, 9 are adjusted by screw-down. The vertical members 5 are interconnected by longitudinal top and bottom girders 13, 14 and by rest bars 6 carrying the work guides 18<SP>1</SP>. The frame is held in position by wedges 15 between the top 10 of the stand and the upper girders 14 so that a clearance exists between the projections 16, 17 and the roll chocks. In removing the roll assembly the top 10 is taken off and the frame lifted by hooks 19 on the girders 14. Recesses 12 are provided in the inner faces of the members 5 into which the rest bars 6 for work guides 181 are fitted.
