993,975. Rolling profiled bars. YAWATA IRON & STEEL CO. Ltd. July 24, 1961 [July 23, 1960], No. 26777/61. Heading B3M. A rolling mill train for rolling H-section bars comprises a universal roll stand to each side of which are situated separate edging stands. A bar is rolled in several reciprocating passes between the universal stand 3 and an anterior stand 9 for more than half the total number of passes, a posterior stand 10 serving as a guide. The final passes are thus rolled between stands 3 and 10 with the anterior stand 9 acting as a guide. The distance between the roll web and the largest diameter of the roll is less in the edging stand 9 than in the stand 10.
