472,002. Rolling. CARGO FLEET IRON CO., Ltd., CLARKE. F. P., and WILLIAMS, T. H. July 1, 1936, No. 18266. [Class 83 (iv)] Rods as in Fig. 6, are made by gradually rolling deeper grooves in a slab B, Fig. 1, in a succession of passes, then rolling and severing in passes shown in Fig. 5, to displace the metal where the severing edges 46, Fig. 15, allow of adjustment for wear and the axis of the central pass is at an angle to the roll axis and thrust is taken by collars 48, 49. After severing, the rods pass through twisting guides T, Fig. 12, to finishing rolls 18.
