Abstract
800,003. Rolling. CRAMER, H. April 12, 1957 [April 23, 1956], No. 12101/57. Class 83 (4). In a mill for rolling hot metal strip the first stand 3 of a finishing train is arranged behind the reversing stand 2 at a distance d which is less than the final length of the strip after its last pass through the reversing stand. The speed of the reversing stand 2 is synchronized with that of the first finishing stand 3 by a control box 8 so that on the final pass the strip can enter the finishing stands before it leaves the reversing stand. Preferably the distance d is approximately equal to the length of strip after the third from last pass through the roughing stand 2. The strip is finally coiled in a coiler 7.
