Abstract

1,033,831. Rolling. SIEMAG SIEGENER MASCHINENBAU G.m.b.H. Feb. 21, 1963 [Feb. 24, 1962], No. 7121/63. Heading B3M. A multiple section continuous rolling mill suitable for rolling wire comprises one or more sections 2 whose stands are disposed one beside another in the rolling direction, while the stands of each other section, such as section 1, are disposed one behind the other, the axial planes of the rolls in the different sections being at right angles to each other. Rolled stock first passes section 1, comprising a roughing train having stands la, then an intermediate section 2 having stands 2a and coil tables 5 and 6 on both sides of the stands, and finally to finishing trains 3 and 4 (Fig. 1b, not shown). Coil tables 6a to 6d are movable in the direction of arrow 7 so that, should the rolled stack wish to be passed straight from stand 2b to the finishing trains, tables 6a to 6c are moved outwardly (to the positions shown in dotted lines) and table 6 is moved in the direction of arrow 8 towards the roughing train to guide the stack from stand 2b towards the finishing trains which are individually movable on rails 13 and 14. The tables 5 and 6 can be formed as trucks.
