Abstract
PURPOSE:To produce ribbed H-steel efficiently by a hot rolling method by subjecting a beam blank after rough rolling successively to forming to open-leg H-steel, and forming of parts corresponding to flanges and ribs with forestage-, poststage- and finishing universal mills. CONSTITUTION:After a blank steel bloom or the like is roughly rolled 5 to a beam blank 1, the blank is formed to open-leg H-steel 14 with the forestage universal rolling mill 6 of an intermediate rolling mill group 9. At the same instant of this forming, the H-steel 14 is formed of leading end faces of the parts corresponding to ribs with the horizontal rolls 17', 17' of the poststage universal rolling mill 7. Thence, this formed body is curved of the parts corresponding to flanges and said ribs to the inner side by the pressure rolling with the vertical rolls 18, 18' of the poststage universal rolling mill 7. Next, the outer side faces thereof are pressed to a linear shape with a finishing universal mill 8, whereby the ribbed H-steel 23 is produced.
