Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture H-shape steel of a wide width flange with good efficiency without causing the contraction of the flange width by executing the rolling for thickness reduction after forming the flat steel billet having the specified dimension against the product dimension of the product H-shape steel in the rough shape steel billet of a dog bone sectional shape after its heating. CONSTITUTION:The thickness T and width W of the flat steel billet of a blank stock is decided by the dimension of the product H-shape steel 18 to be manufactured. Namely the thickness T is taken in the dimension satisfying an inequality 1 and the width W satisfying an inequality 2. This flat steel billet is formed in the rough shape steel billet 17 of the dog bone sectional shape having the flange width BF1 and web inner width HF1 satisfying equation 3 and equation 4 by rolling with a breakdown mill, after its heating. This rough shape steel billet 17 is subjected to thickness reduction rolling so as to satisfy an inequality 5 by the ratio of a flange part rolling reduction rate PSIf to the web part rolling reduction rate PSIw by an universal mill. The product H-shape steel 18 of the specified dimensional shape is obtd. by executing finish rolling by a finishing universal mill in succession thereafter.
