Abstract
PURPOSE:To manufacture a rough billet with good material yield and high efficiency by applying forging on the whole length in the longitudinal direction after forming two recessed parts in the longitudinal direction of a steel stock by the tool of circular arcuated section in advance, in case of manufacturing the rough billet for rolling a bar steel by forging from the steel stock. CONSTITUTION:In case of manufacturing an H-shape steel stock, the thick billet made in almost H-shape in advance is subjected to hot rolling after manufacturing it by forging to manufacture the bar steel of an H-shape steel, etc. In case of manufacturing the rough billet of as that in this H-shape by forging of a steel stock, a so-called crop 6 is formed at the initial forging time and this crop part becomes of the yield reduction of the raw material. In order to prevent this, a rolling reduction is executed in the longitudinal direction of a steel stock 4 by the tool 3 having a circular arcuate section so as to form the recessed part 5 at two places at both sides for the sectional center of the raw material steel stock 4. The rough billet having no generation of the crop 6 is obtd. with good material yield by forging by using the tool having such a non-steady part that the rolling reduction is gradually reduced in the compression and width directions compared with an ordinary tool steady part thereafter.
