Abstract

718,084. Cutting ice-cream &c. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Sept. 25, 1952 [Sept. 3, 1951], No. 20703/51. Class 87 (2) Several, e.g. four extruded strips of icecream 11 are fed through a freezing tunnel 12, along a table 15, and are cut into blocks by a knife 16. The strips may be cut by a series of cutting devices operating synchronously. The knives may move with the strips. during cutting, and after cutting may move faster than the strips to separate the blocks from the strips. The cut blocks are fed by a member 18 into the pockets 19 of an intermittently moving chain conveyer 3. In a modification the chain conveyer may be replaced by a band conveyer. The blocks are fed from the pockets to a wrapping machine 14 by a reciprocating member. The member 18 and the cutting device are operated synchronously with the conveyer.
