Abstract
717,935. Moulding confectionery. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Dec. 10, 1952 [Nov. 28, 1951], No. 27858/51. Class 87 (2) A rope 10 of toffee is shaped between rollers 12, 13 and 14, 16 into a desired cross-sectional shape. The toffee is then fed to rollers 17, 18 which score it longitudinally into, e.g. the forms shown in Figs. 3, 4, and 5. A rotating knife 26 is traversed at intervals to sever a bar of toffee. The cut bars are transferred by a conveyer 28 to the wheel of a wrapping machine. The rollers are driven intermittently in timed relation with the conveyer. The knife cuts one bar during one movement and another bar during its return movement.
