Abstract

718,026. Cutting ice-cream &c. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Sept. 25, 1952 [Sept. 3, 1951], No. 20702/51. Class 87 (2) Several, e.g. four, extruded strips of ice-cream 11 are fed through a freezing tunnel 12 and are cut into blocks by knives 16. The cut blocks are fed downwardly by a rapidly oscillating member 19 into pockets 17 of an intermittently moving conveyer 13. The blocks are transferred from the conveyer to a wrapping machine 14 by a reciprocating pusher 21. A single cutting device, e.g. a guillotine, may be used, and the knife or knives may move with the strips, during cutting. The strips may also be cut individually by a series of cutting devices operating synchronously. The knives are reciprocated in timed relationship with the movement of the conveyer.
