Abstract

PURPOSE: Lumps of ice cream or sherbet are placed on a film band and directly frozen, then the film is cut every lump and they are separated and packed, thus permitting the separate package without direct contact of the ice cream lumps with the machine.
CONSTITUTION: Ice cream lumps with a prescribed shape 4 are placed with a certain interval on a film band 1 which is moving and the lumps are frozen under a constant-speed movement of the film. Then, the film is cut every lump 4 and the lumps are packed separately with packaging machine 25. For example, conveyer 2 bearing film 1 on the surface is shifted, ice cream 4 is extruded from nozzle 3 and frozen at -30W-35°C in freezing chamber 6. The film is sent through tension roller 9 to film cutter 12 where the film is cut. The cut film bearing an ice cream lump is pushed with pusher 13 downward into depressed part 16 and the film is folded by pusher 7.
