Abstract
739,808. Wrapping-machines. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Sept. 1, 1953 [June 21, 1952], No. 15689/52. Class 94 (1). [Also in Group V] In a machine in which blocks of ice-cream or other plastic material are enclosed in succession in a travelling web of wrapping material which is folded around the blocks to form a tube which is then collapsed and secured between successive blocks, a series of blocks are' cut simultaneously from rods 11 extruding from nozzles 12 by a knife 13 which is moved forwardly at extrusion rate during the cutting operation and then at an increased rate to transfer the blocks along a supporting platform 16 into the path of movement of pushers 18 on an endless chain conveyer 17, a stop member 19 being provided on the platform. The pushers feed the blocks down an inclined plate 21 so that they are deposited in spaced succession on the web of wrapping material which is drawn over a supporting plate 23, the wrapping operations being completed by mechanism as described in Specification 739,805.
