700,196. Cutting ice-cream. MELICH, H. March 31, 1952 [March 30, 1951], No. 7392/51. Class 87 (2) A bar of plastic material is supported in a hopper 1 and is cut into bricks by a reciprocating knife 7. As the knife cuts the bar, the cutting slide 6 forces a catch plate 2, which normally supports the bar, outwardly to a non- supporting position. The hopper is then moved upwardly, and when push rods 3 reach the top of the cutting slide 6, the catch plate 2, is moved inwardly by springs 5 to support the bar again. The slide 6 is then retracted, and the hopper is moved downwardly to begin the next cutting cycle.
