512,545. Sugar cutters. HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK AKT.-GES. Nov. 9, 1938, No. 32482. Convention date, June 2. [Class 127] Bars of sugar z, Fig 1, are fed continuously past a pair of snipping knives 6, 7 which are pressed together so as to cut the sugar and, while thus cutting travel along with the sugar until the cut is completed and the knives disengaged when they return .ready to cut again. Eccentrics 10, 11 force the knives 6, 7 together while eccentric 19 oscillates the frame 9 carrying the knives, on pivot 15 to effect the to and fro motion. In another form, Fig. 2 not shown, frame 9 is fixed and the knives operated by individual eccentrics to effect the to and fro motion.
