Class 78 (1) [Also in Groups V and XVII] A rope 11 of plastic toffee is formed into sweets between intermittently rotating horizontal discs 13 having mould cavities 17. Each formed sweet 18 is transferred by a vertically reciprocating plunger 19 into an open-sided pocket 21 of a wheel 22. When the pocket is filled with a batch of sweets, the wheel 22 is rotated through 90 degrees and the sweets transferred by a reciprocating pusher 24 into the pocket 25 of an intermittently driven conveyer 26. The batch of sweets is then pushed by a pusher 27 into a wrapping wheel which carries the sweets through a series of wrapping stations.
