883,146. Rotary table moulding machines. BAKER PERKINS Ltd. Sept, 16, 1960 [Sept. 21, 1959], No. 32119/59. Class 87(2). Apparatus for forming tablets from a rope of sugar of the type comprising a moulding wheel 10 rotatable about a horizontal axis, means for feeding the rope to the wheel, and moulding members which co-operate with the cavities in the wheel to form the tablets, includes a rotary turntable 18 below the wheel; which turntable receives the tablets from the lowermost point of the wheel, is rotated so that its upper surface travels in the same sense as the lowermost portion of the wheel, and discharges the tablets in a predetermined flow line. Tablets 14 are moulded from a rope 12 by die members 15 and cooperating pairs of plungers, Fig. 2 (not shown), and are passed on to table 18 which rotates at the same peripheral speed as wheel 10. After the table has turned the tablets through 180 degrees they are guided by member 19 on to conveyer band 20 which extends from the wheel on the side remote from the entering rope.
