Class 87(2) [Also in Group XVII] A rope of interconnected sweets is conveyed by a continuously-operated endless chain 1, Fig. 2, to a station 8 where sets of two or more, e.g. five, sweets.S are separated in succession from the rope by prongs 2a on a reciprocating plunger 2 and thrust into pockets in an intermittently-rotated wrapping wheel 3. The prongs 2a, Figs. 7 and 8, are formed on members 21 pivoted to the plunger 2 and are guided by fixed cams 22 so that they move with the sweets during the operative stroke of the plunger. The latter is reciprocated horizontally and vertically by cam-operated linkages so that it moves in a rectangular path.
