461,546. Endless - belt conveyers. FAIRWEATHER, H. G. C. (Aktiebolaget Siefvert & Fornander) Sept. 28, 1936, No. 26284. [Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XVII] Articles such as the inner boxes of slide and shell assemblies are assembled and arranged so that a number of them may be simultaneously inserted into their respective shells with a relatively slow movement. A row of filled match boxes &c. 1 .. 3 are advanced in the direction of the arrow x to positions 11 .. 13 on an intermittently movable conveyer 7 having series 8 .. 10, 8<1>. . 10<1>. of ribs on the surface. The number of ribs in each series is equal to the nuinber of boxes fed forward at a time, and the height is less than the height of the boxes. A stop, arranged in steps 14, 15, is arranged to engage the tops of the boxes when the conveyer resumes its intermittent movement, with the result that the boxes are moved to positions 21 .. 23. During the next pause, plungers 16, 17 align the boxes at positions 22, 23 with that at position 21. After an intermediate step, the boxes arrive in front of plungers 18 .. 20 for insertion into shells 4.. 6. In a modified construction, a plunger having a number of contact faces in stepwise arrangements effects the change from positions 11 .. 13 to positions 21..23.
