Abstract

531,800. Conveyers. KING, Ltd., G. W., and KING, D. M. Aug. 2, 1939, No. 22432. [Class 78 (i)] Carriers or other containers carried by an endless conveyer chain are discharged automatically at any one of a number of pre-selected stations. In the illustrated form the carriers 11 are connected to an endless driving chain 10 supported from the girder 13 by wheeled hangers 12. Each carrier is fitted with a slotted plate 14. By rotating the rods 19 and moving them axially by hand, their projecting ends 20 can be set in various positions in the slotted plate; each position of the pair corresponding to preselection of a discharging station. Plates 22 near each discharge point have a pair of holes 23 adapted to register with the ends 20 when set for that point. As the carriers pass non-selected stations, they push the plate 22 laterally out of the way, but at the pre-selected station, the projections 20 enter the holes 23 and the plate 22 is linked to the moving carried @ thus moved in the guides 22. The moved plate operates the linkage 26 to raise a ramp 27 which in turn contacts the roller 28 and raises the lever 29 and link 31 to tip the receptacle 30. A cam separates the plates as the carriers pass beyond the discharge point.
