Abstract

The bottles etc. are arranged in batches in two or more parallel rows and are separated by strip material. Each time a separator strip is shaped in a single piece in accordance with the packing pattern of the bottles in the box into a double undulating meander line so as to run part of the way round each of the bottles. The bottles can be inserted in the box to a pattern, after which the shaped strip is slid between them from above. It can initially be slid between the bottle tops, and further down during a subsequent operation. Before shaping the strip, it can be compressed all along its lower edge.
