Abstract

671,952. Rotary conveyers. COZZOLI, F. J. June 10, 1949. [July 24, 1948] No. 15536/49. Class 78 (i). [Also in Groups VI, XVII, XXIII and XXVIII] In a combined filling and sealing machine for ampoules (see Group VI), the ampules after being conveyed past the filling station by an intermittently operated endlesschain conveyer C, are passed by an accumulator and transfer device AC to the rotary table 150 of a tube-sealing machine SM. The device AC comprises a tongue element 120 which directs the ampules, when urged singly by a cam-operated pusher 124 into a channel 123 from which they are taken up singly in a notch in a continuously rotating disc 140. A spring tensioned circular guard 145 maintains the ampoules upright in the notch. The anti-clockwise continuously rotating table 150 carries a series of equally spaced pairs of rollers 151 each of which is associated with a sealing mechanism. The filled and sealed ampules are extracted by a tongue element 254 and delivered into a channel 255.
