Abstract
1,102,485. Making encased, boneless meat sticks. CUBB-PAC CORPORATION. 19 July, 1966 No. 32400/66: Headings A2B and A2U. [Also in Division B8] In processing boneless pieces of meat to form encased meat sticks, which are suitable for subsequent grinding, the pieces are fed, through a hopper 2, Fig. 2, into the cylinder 3 of an extruding machine 1, and issue, through its outlet nozzle 7, as a substantially solid bar of meat, which is received in a synthetic or edible elongated casing (9) fitted over said nozzle. The advancing end of the bar abuts the end 10 of the casing, which end is closed. The travelling encased bar is received on the upper run 13 of an endless conveyer belt 11 moving at substantially the same speed as the encased bar which is cut, by a knife 15, into meat sticks 16 of uniform length. The sticks 16 are packed in a box (17), Fig. 4 (not shown), and may be frozen before or after being packed.
