Abstract

881,153. Cutting sweets from a strand. THEEGARTEN, F. Jan. 15, 1958, No. 1487/58. Class 87(2). [Also in Group XVII] A single confectionery making machine (not shown) feeds a strand of confectionery 10 to twc wrapping devices 14, 15 the strand being cut, in some cases at already indented positions, by knives 16, 17 on a rotat ing shaft 18 at two places simultaneously to supply an article 20, 21 for each device. The article 20 for the device 14 is pushed directly into the jaws of its device by a pusher 22. The article 21 is advanced in steps by a reciprocating member 23 to a similar pusher for feeding it to the device 15. The strand is fed forward and partially shaped by rollers 11, 12.
