Abstract

1,168,249. Wrappers with twisted ends. KONDITERSKAYA FABRICA " KRASNY OKTYABR." 13 Jan., 1967, No. 1947/67. Heading B8C. Pieces of confectionery are pushed by a member 8 into pockets 2 on a vertical wheel entraining as they go portions of wrapping material cut off by a knife 7, and the pocket 2 then moves to a position where rotary jaws 3 can twist the ends of the wrapping material. As the confectionery is pushed into the pockets 2 the wrapping material is held against it by a resiliently biased stop 10 operated by a cam. Each pocket 2 has a resiliently mounted detachable face plate with knurled surfaces. In the form illustrated sweets are fed by a belt conveyer 1 past converging walls having a portion 11 which is lowered to permit the sweets to be pushed into the pocket 2. A limit switch (not shown) prevents operation of the machine if no sweet is present. The passage of sweets along the belt 1 is controlled by a rotary brush. The wrapper is fed by rollers 5, 6 and is folded around the sweet partly by guides (not shown) and partly by a folding member 20.
