867,110. Cutting-apparatus. DROHMANN G.m.b.H., CARL. Oct. 22, 1959 [Nov. 20, 1958], No. 35821/59. Class 31 (1). [Also in Group XVII] Apparatus for wrapping a group G of articles (see Group XVII) includes means for forming cutouts A, B, Fig. 4, in the wrapper E. Scissor blades 54, operated by electromagnets 50 through levers 51, 52, 53 and mounted with the electromagnets on plates 55 displaceable on guides 56 secured to a plate 13, form the cut-outs A. When the wrapper web is drawn forward the electromagnets are energized and the pairs of blades 54 close. The cut-outs B are formed by cam-controlled circular knives 61 mounted on levers 57 on a shaft 58 which, at a predetermined time, is turned by a linkage 59 so that the knives penetrate the web and use forks 60 as anvils. A device 38 is provided for severing the wrappers from the web in known fashion.
