Abstract

A straight line sintering machine in the form of an endless travelling grate is characterized in that the pallets have a length, in their direction of movement of from 20-50 c.m. and a width between 0.5 and 3 metres. The pallets which may be connected to each other by suitable means such as fish plates, may run on rollers and be driven through a driving chain, one of the two shafts engaging the driving chain being adjustable. The containing side walls of the machine which may have a height of .3-2 metres are preferably constructed as endless belts moving with the pallets.
