Abstract

738,806. Endless conveyers. RAVESTEIN, J. Aug. 5, 1953 [Aug. 15, 1952], No. 21633/53. Class 78 (1). An endless-band conveyer adapted to be bent or curved in a horizontal plane comprises a bearing surface built up of strips 20, 21 supported by rods 11 which are secured to an endless driving chain 1 and provided with rollers 12, 13 engaging inner and outer guide rails 14, 15 and 16, 17 respectively, supported on beams 8 having trestle legs 9, 10. Each strip is formed with a circular aperture at one end and an elongated slot at the other to receive adjacent rods, each rod supporting some strips by engaging their apertures and others by engaging their slots, and the strips being spaced by metal pieces 22. The rails 14, 16 at one side and the rails 15, 17 at the other side of the chain 1 are staggered relatively to one another so that the rollers 12, 13 will always be supported as they move round a curve. The chain 1 is guided round curves between pulleys 2, 3.
