An endless conveyer in which the belt is passed over supporting rollers arranged in longitudinally spaced sets, each set comprising a plurality of disc-shaped rollers mounted on a flexible or rigid spindle so as to be independently freely rotatable thereon and laterally spaced from one another by spacing sleeves having a transverse dimension, e.g. a diameter, less than that of the said rollers, is characterized in that the rollers are formed of a very hard non-metallic material, for example hard porcelain or glass, and are mounted on said spindle directly, i.e. without using bearing liners. As shown in Fig. 1, each set of rollers is supported on posts 6 detachably secured by clips 5 to a frame 1 consisting of lengths of steel tubing. The idlers for the conveying run are supported on a length of wire cable 9, one end of which extends through an aperture in the part 6a of the adjacent post, whilst the other end extends through an upwardly-open slot in the part 6a of the adjacent post, the cable being provided with supporting collars 8. The rollers 10 of glass are loosely mounted on the cable and spaced by porcelain sleeves 11. The rollers for the return run are mounted on a rigid spindle 9a. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 3, the end rollers 10a are formed with flanges 10b for guiding the belt laterally, and the rollers and sleeves are held together by springs 12.
