Abstract
693,924. Lamp caps and holders. TURNOCK, Ltd., G., and JACKSON, E. D. Dec. 14, 1951 [Sept. 29, 1950], No. 23844/50. Class 38 (i). A lamp holder comprises a body 9 and spring plungers 1 the square bases 2 of which move between inwardly-pressed parts 13 of resilient U-shaped members 3, the latter being mounted on a disc 4 housed in a recess 8 of the body, and connected to terminals 5 by means of eyelets 23 integral with the terminals. Each U-shaped member, spring, and plunger assembly is isolated in a compartment 25 in the body. When the holder is assembled the base 2 of the plunger 1 abuts the wall of the compartment 25, the disc 4 being screwed or riveted in the recess 8. Fig. 3 (not shown), illustrates a lamp holder adapter having pins to fit into a socket, the U-shaped members being provided with lugs riveted to corresponding plug pins to allow for the different spacing of the plungers and the pins. Alternatively the disc may be screw-threaded to engage a cap to form a pendant lamp holder or a base for a batten holder. The Provisional Specification refers to the edges of the U-shaped parts being inwardly flanged to form a split box section in which the plunger slides.
