Abstract
607,934. Lamp-holders. CORNERCROFT, Ltd., and RYCROFT, N. March 4, 1947, No. 6080. Addition to 584,333. [Class 38 (i)] In a modification of the electric lamp fitting described in the parent Specification, wherein a bayonet socket section 11 and associated contact carrying insulator 12 are secured in a casing section 9 by co-operating flanges 9a and 11a, 12a on the casing and socket section, respectively, resilient means, preferably a spring plunger 17, are provided for exerting pressure on the insulator 12 to ensure that it and the socket section are retained in the casing. The plunger is moulded in the underside of a cap 10 secured in the top of the casing and engages a recess 12d in the top of the insulator. Figs. 6-8 (not shown), illustrate a modification for screw-cap lamps, the socket section 11 being replaced by an internally screw-threaded adaptor section. In this modification the insulator is dome-shaped, the apex thereof co-operating with the spring plunger.
