Abstract

540,355. Lamp-holders. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 3, 1940, No. 14845. Convention date, Oct. 3, 1939. [Class 38 (i)] A tubular lamp 10 having at each end two contact prongs 11 that are retained by blades 19 in a holder 12 is released from the holder by a manually operated member 26 that presses the blades 19 apart until the hooked portions 20 are clear of the prongs 11. In order to lift the lamp to a more accessible position for removal after release, a spring 29 presses on the underside of the lamp cap. The contact blades 19 are attached to terminals 22 held in place in cavities by an insulating plate 30 to which the spring 29 is riveted. A partition 34 isolates the terminal screw 24 in a recess 33 that opens through the mounting plate 36. Specification 536,336 is referred to.
