Abstract

576,346. Lamp-holders. ANTROBUS, R. S. Jan. 25, 1944, No. 1388. [Class 38 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] A holder for a bayonet-cap lamp comprises a flat body 5 of insulation having a central opening which may be lined with metal 1 and has slots 1a to receive the pins on the lampcap, the contacts 3 consisting of shaped strips arranged radially to protrude into the opening and resiliently mounted to engage the contacts of the lamp. The strips 3 are located in grooves 6 and loosely secured by screws 7 passing through clearance holes in the body 5 and strips 3 and screwed into terminal blocks 4. Springs 8 beneath the heads 7a of the screws 7 provide the resilience and allow the terminal blocks 4 to be raised clear of the grooves 6 for screwing up, both the blocks 4 and the heads 7a of the screws being restrained against rotation when assembled by the sides of the grooves 6, 9. The screws may be inserted from above and the blocks 4 arranged below the body 5.
