636,309. Pistons and piston rods. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and TREVASKIS, H. W. March 7, 1946, No. 21968/48. Divided out of 636,247. [Class 122(i)] A piston 2 has an axial extension 4 into which is screwed a shank 7 having two part-spherical surfaces 8, 9. The piston rod 13 has a part-spherical recess 15 against which the surface 9 is pressed by a surface 17 on a member 16 engaging the surface 8. The member 16 is held in position within the end of the piston rod by a sleeve 18, sufficient clearance being allowed for any misalignment between the piston and the rod.
