Abstract
718,583. Pistons. BAYON, R., and LAUX, P. Nov. 27, 1952 [June 21, 1952], No. 30097/52. Class 122(1) A compound piston for hydraulic and pneumatic applications comprises a core a and a sleeve d of bronze or the like supported 'on the core between a flange a<SP>1</SP> and the shoulder b<SP>3</SP> of a nut b which engages threads in the bore of the core and retains the piston on a piston-rod c by engaging a shoulder c<SP>1</SP> on the rod. The latter is capable of small lateral and axial movements relatively to the piston which is provided with packing rings f, bearing against the wall of the cylinder, and a ring e between the sleeve d and the core a. Scraper rings g, of rubber, nylon or the like, are located in recesses in the ends of the sleeve d. The nut b may be turned by a key engaging recesses in the nut which is locked by grub-screws b<SP>2</SP>.
