494,552. Piston-rings. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER. Feb. 4, 1938, No. 3625. Convention date, Feb. 4, 1937. [Class 122 (i)] A ring d is provided with resilient axial annular extensions h, i adapted to bear on the cylinder wall and piston wall respectively. Extension h may be of slightly greater or less diameter than the cylinder wall. The ring may be slit or continuous and may be used as a compression or oil scraper ring. Extension i may be formed separately as a continuous ring and welded or shrunk on the part d, h which is formed as a split ring. The lower portion of the ring is recessed to provide clearance k.
