Abstract

771,762. Hydraulic actuatars. RUSTON & HORNSBY, Ltd. March 11, 1955 [March 20, 1954], No. 8198/54. Class 69 (2). A piston 12 is locked in a central position in a cylinder 11 by liquid passing through a port 29 and moving pistons 18, 19 into contact with abutments 24, 25 on end caps 22, 23 when the main liquid supply is not applied to either of two main ports 14, 15. The piston 12 is mounted on a rod 13 and, if connected to a gear-box, the central position of the piston 12 may correspond to the neutral position of the gear-box. Circlips 20, 21 retain the pistons 18, 19 in the main piston 12. The liquid supply connected to port 29 is the same as that connected to ports 14, 15.
