Abstract
598,627. Knitting-machines. KANGOL WEAR, Ltd., and HUBER, G. Nov. 6, 1945, No. 22955. [Class 74 (ii)] A single bed machine for knitting berets wherein the yarn guide is carried on the cam box is provided with means for maintaining correct lead of the yarn guide over the cam box in each direction of movement. The yarn guide G is mounted on a horizontal bar E slidably mounted in the cam box A and prevented from movement thereon by spring means during the laying of the yarn, the rod E coming into engagement with a fixed stop H<1> as the cam box approaches each end of its traverse. Movement of the rod and guide is prevented and the bar moves through the cam box to bring the guide from one end of the cam box to the other in readiness for its traverse in the opposite direction. The spring means comprises a spring-pressed ball e carried by the cam box engaging either of two recesses e<1>, e<2> in the bar E. The yarn guide may comprise two rollers g<2> spaced apart and a curved member g<3>, the yarn passing first over one roller and then over the other roller according to the direction of traverse.
