Abstract

686,320. Knitting-machines. MONK, S. A. Dec. 29, 1950. [Dec. 29, 1949] No. 33171/49. Class 74 (ii). The chain 1 of a thread carrier drive for a straight-bar machine, for example, as described in Specification 630,249 or 643,644, is guided by a member 10 which engages the rollers of the chain as it passes round the sprocket 2 at the end of the carrier traverse, thereby preventing the chain jumping from the sprocket as it changes its direction of motion. This guiding of the chain confines the movement of a roller 6 on the chain driving a fork member 7 connected to the carrier, and thereby reduces the impact of the fork member against its end stop.
